It is October in North Florida and finally the weather is turning a little more moderate. It has been a while since my first post and I am still working on my website. It is just a matter of learn as I go. It has been an interesting few months, but then again it has been a strange year. I really miss teaching my classes at the local Arts and Crafts Center, but they are still closed and I don’t know when the City will reopen the center. The same goes for our local Chapter of the Florida Society of Goldsmiths. The shutdown has given me the chance to take advantage of expanding number of Zoom and online workshops recently, which has been great. Taking these classes has expanded my skills and I have had a chance to play with some new techniques.
In August, I had the opportunity to take part in a jewelry exhibit at the LeMoyne Arts Foundation in Tallahassee. It was a small show with only about 7 jewelers exhibiting during the month of August. That show has lead to a couple more shows for the remainder of 2020. I will be participating in the Autumn Artisans Faire on October 24th as part of the Florida Society of Goldsmiths. It is a small one day show, and one of the very few outdoor shows that have not been canceled for the year. I am looking forward to the show and it will be interesting to see how it is attended.
Thank you again for letting me ramble on and I hope to post again soon.
